What you will Need
Before getting started, make sure you have the following items:
- Printer
- Internet connection and router with WIFI
- Computer with WIFI-capable network adapter
- Printer software disc
Steps to Connect Your Printer to WIFI
- Install Printer Software: First, insert the printer software disc in your computer and follow the on-screen instructions to install it. This will allow your computer to communicate with the printer.
- Connect Printer to Router: Once the installation is complete, you will need to connect your printer to the same router you are using for your WIFI network. This can be done by either plugging the printer Ethernet cable into one of the router’s LAN ports, or by connecting the printer to the router’s Wi-Fi network.
- Add Printer to WIFI Network: Next, access the router’s admin interface by typing in the router’s IP address into your web browser. From there, you will need to add the printer to your WIFI network. Look for a “Printers” tab in the admin interface and follow the instructions to add your printer.
- Test Printer: Lastly, choose a document on your computer and try to print it. If all goes well, you should see the document coming out of your printer. If the document is not printing, try reinstalling the printer software or contact your printer’s customer support.
Now that your printer is connected to your WIFI network, you should be able to print documents wirelessly. Make sure to check with your printer’s customer support if you have any issues with the connection. Enjoy your printouts!
